AAUP Hosts the President and Members of the Bar Association on the Sidelines of Holding the Legal Practice Exam on its Campus in Ramallah

The Arab American University has received the President of the Palestinian Bar Association, Attorney Fadi Abbas, and members of the Association Council on the sidelines of the legal practice exam, which the University hosted on its Ramallah campus.

The delegation was received by Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for Ramallah Campus, Dr. Bara Asfour, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Al Ashqar, Head of the Legal Sciences Department at the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia welcomed the president and members of the Bar Association, expressed the University鈥檚 readiness to cooperate with the Bar Association in all fields and harness the available capabilities to hold its activities and events.

A Training Course is Held for Students of the Historic Building Renovation Course in the Interior Architecture Major

The Department of Architecture and Design at the Faculty of Modern Sciences at the Arab American University in Ramallah has held a training course for students of the Historic Building Renovation course, specializing in Interior Architecture.

The training course, which took place in the Old City of Beit Hanina over two days, aimed to develop the students鈥 skills in the field of renovation by introducing them to the materials and techniques used. It included a detailed explanation and practical application on how to prepare stone walls for traditional plaster and the mechanism of their application, in addition to Preparing and dealing with the lime slab and lime mixture.

The New School University Hosts the Arab American University Academician and Cartoonist Mohammad Sabaaneh

The New School University has hosted the cartoonist and academician at the Arab American University, Mr. Mohammad Sabaaneh, as part of the 鈥淐omics and Picture-Story Week鈥 events held by the Faculty of Arts at The New School University, New York City.

The lecture, which took place via the Zoom platform, touched upon the role of comics in collective memory, as Mr. Sabaaneh presented several experiences from different parts of the world and compared them to his own experience through releasing the first Palestinian comic story published in the United States in 2021 and translated into Italian and French. The lecture also discussed the practices of the occupation within the framework of settler colonialism and how Sabaaneh documented these policies through visual arts.

The Arab American University Enlightens the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Its Academic and Research Achievements

The Chairman of the University鈥檚 Board of Directors, Dr. Yousef Asfour, and the University President, Professor Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, have visited the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, at the Ministry鈥檚 headquarters in Ramallah.

During the meeting, Minister Barham welcomed the University delegation, and praised the achievements made by the University. He also praised the University鈥檚 constant endeavors to advance higher education in Palestine and continuously develop its academic programs for the sake of meeting the ambitions and aspirations of the Palestinian youth who yearn for modern sciences.

AAUP Library and Archives Director - Ramallah Campus, Ms. Rola Shahwan, Participates in the Arab Film Festival in Berlin

Ms. Rola Shahwan, Director of the Library and Archives at the Arab American University - Ramallah Campus, has participated in the events of the fifteenth Arab Film Festival in Berlin, Germany last week. This year's festival was devoted to displaying and discussing Palestinian films related to the Palestinian conflict, whether old films revived and displayed, or new ones.

The festival had a distinctive representation of the Palestinian narrative on German cinemas and presented a Palestinian perspective to Arab and German audiences.

The AAUP Faculty of Medicine Holds a Meeting with Cardiff University in Britain

The Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University has held a meeting with the (HIVE) Digital and Teaching Innovation Unit at Cardiff University in Britain. The meeting was attended by the assistant deans of the Faculty of Medicine, directors of the departments, the academic and administrative staff of the Faculty鈥檚 two branches on the University鈥檚 campuses in Jenin and Ramallah, as well as Dr. Athanasios Hassoulas from Cardiff University.

The meeting included the presentation of immersive educational experiences and e-learning resources that fill the gaps in students鈥 knowledge of many medical topics, which is considered a qualitative addition to the method of teaching.

AAUP Graduate Students Participate in the Round Table Organized by the European Union Delegation to Support the Palestinian Police EUPOL COPPS

A group of female students from the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University participated in the round table organized by the European Union delegation to support the Palestinian police, EUPOL COPPS, under the title 鈥淚nspiring Inclusion鈥 on the occasion of International Women鈥檚 Day.

Hala Khreisat Haj Hassan, a student in the Ph.D. program in conflict resolution, Rasha Al Soqi, a student in the Ph.D. program in international relations, and Mimas Sulaiman, a student in the master鈥檚 program in international relations have participated in the event. This event focused on the role of women in institutional affairs and state building. The female students of AAUP participated in discussing this important topic from an academic and practical perspective.

The Arab American University Holds a Training Workshop for Academicians to Raise the Level of Academic Quality

The Arab American University has held an intensive training workshop on its Ramallah campus titled: 鈥淨uality in Teaching and Learning鈥. 聽The workshop was supervised by Professor Mohammad Asia, Vice President for the Ramallah Campus.

The workshop aimed to improve the skills of academicians at the University for bachelor鈥檚 and postgraduate degrees. It also aimed to prepare them to use modern methods in education, evaluate student performance and employ technology in education. This is to reach high-quality educational outcomes in all programs offered by the University.

AAUP Holds a Training Workshop for Public Relations Employees in Local Authorities

The Faculty of Modern Media at the Arab American University in Ramallah has held a training workshop targeting employees of public relations departments in local authorities titled 鈥淧ublic Relations in Local Government Institutions: Towards Effective Communication with the Public.鈥

More than fifty representatives of public relations departments in municipalities and local councils from Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Jenin, and Qalqilya participated in the workshop.

The meeting was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for Ramallah Campus. He stressed the importance of strengthening the integrated relationship between the University and local authorities. Dr. Asia also stressed the vital role played by local authorities in serving the community and promoting positive communication.
