The Arab American University and the Palestinian Telecommunications Company Jawwal Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The Arab American University, represented by Dr. Bara Asfour, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and the Palestinian Telecommunications Company Jawwal, represented by Mr. Bahi Sawalha, Director of Human Resources Department, signed a memorandum of understanding for the sake of exchanging knowledge and experiences as well as providing training and employment opportunities for AAUP students.

The agreement was signed on the University campus in Ramallah with the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for the Ramallah Campus, Mr. Mohammad Sabaaneh, Director of the Student Affairs Department, Mr. Qais Obaid from the Student Affairs Department, and on behalf of the Palestinian Telecommunications Company, Jawwal, Mr. Alaa Hijazi, Head of the Business Support Department, and Mr. Thaer Abu Baker, Business Sector Manager.

Asal Technology Company Visits the Arab American University

A delegation from Assal Technology Company visited the Arab American University. The delegation had a meeting with the deans of the Faculties of Engineering and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Hazem Khanfar and Dr. Mohammad Marie, the heads of departments in the two faculties, and the general director of Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence, Engineer Mays Awad. The meeting aimed at consolidating relations between the two institutions, and finding a mechanism for developing the training of faculties鈥 students in Asal Company.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several topics related to practical training for students and the mechanism for developing these trainings. The two parties also presented several ideas and initiatives for the students and their development in the technological aspect, as a number of students from both faculties are training at Asal Technology Company within an agreement signed between the company and the University.

AAUP Graduate Students Participate in the Round Table Organized by the European Union Delegation to Support the Palestinian Police EUPOL COPPS

A group of female students from the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University participated in the round table organized by the European Union delegation to support the Palestinian police, EUPOL COPPS, under the title 鈥淚nspiring Inclusion鈥 on the occasion of International Women鈥檚 Day.

Hala Khreisat Haj Hassan, a student in the Ph.D. program in conflict resolution, Rasha Al Soqi, a student in the Ph.D. program in international relations, and Mimas Sulaiman, a student in the master鈥檚 program in international relations have participated in the event. This event focused on the role of women in institutional affairs and state building. The female students of AAUP participated in discussing this important topic from an academic and practical perspective.

Arab American University has signed a memorandum of understanding with Texas A&M University in Qatar with the aim of enhancing opportunities for students and faculty members in the field of engineering. The agreement was signed under the supervision of Dr. Lana Shehadeh, Director of International Relations at the University, Professor Dr. Hazem Khanfar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and on behalf of Texas A&M University, Professor Haitham Abu Al Rub, Director of the university Smart Network Center.

This MOU includes an agreement to expand the student exchange program and international opportunities for students and faculty members at the Arab American University. It is expected that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two universities as well as exchanging experiences in the field of engineering and technology.

The AAUP Faculty of Medicine Holds a Workshop on Scientific Research Skills for Its Students

The Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University has held a workshop on scientific research skills for its students on Jenin and Ramallah campuses with the presence of the Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Saja Nazzal.

The meeting was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spine Surgeon, Dr. Malik Zaben. He pointed out the importance of scientific research and the need for students to possess its skills, especially in the medical field. This would enhance students鈥 opportunities for specialization and improve the quality of the services they provide to patients.

The Arab American University Holds a Training Workshop for Academicians to Raise the Level of Academic Quality

The Arab American University has held an intensive training workshop on its Ramallah campus titled: 鈥淨uality in Teaching and Learning鈥. 聽The workshop was supervised by Professor Mohammad Asia, Vice President for the Ramallah Campus.

The workshop aimed to improve the skills of academicians at the University for bachelor鈥檚 and postgraduate degrees. It also aimed to prepare them to use modern methods in education, evaluate student performance and employ technology in education. This is to reach high-quality educational outcomes in all programs offered by the University.

The Arab American University Holds an Activity for People with Special Needs

The Office of the Assistant to the President for Community Affairs has held a rehabilitation activity and initial screening for people with special needs at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Tubas Governorate. The activity was held in cooperation with the Palestinian Pioneer Scouts and Guides Association.

The activity was inaugurated with a welcoming speech by Ms. Maha Salama, with the presence of Dr. Laila Herzallah, Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, Dr. Rima Daraghmeh, Chairman of the Association, Mr. Mohammad Jamil Sawalmeh, Vice President of the Palestinian Scouts Association, Joseph Lambros, a member of the administrative staff, Dr. Wafa Al Sa鈥檃di as well as a number of families and specialists.

The AAUP Faculty of Medicine Concludes the 鈥淐linical Research Education鈥 Program in Cooperation with the International Medical Education Association

The Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University, in cooperation with the International Medical Education Association, concluded a series of lectures on the 鈥淐linical Research Education鈥 program.

The first lecture of the 鈥淐linical Research Education鈥 program was held via Zoom platform, and was moderated by Dr. Malik Zaben, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University. He welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their interest in participation. He also thanked the International Medical Education Association for the endless support and services it provides in Fields of health care in Palestine.

The Arab American University Signs an Agreement with Budapest Metropolitan University

As an important step towards strengthening international collaboration, the Director of International Relations at the Arab American University, Dr. Lana Shehadeh, met with the Deputy Head of Mission of the Hungarian Representation, Ms. Krisztina Toth to discuss and activate the memorandum of understanding signed with Budapest Metropolitan University.

This initiative is a response to the efforts of the Arab American University to enhance international collaboration, with the aim of expanding opportunities for exchanging students and employees between the two universities.

Dr. Shehadeh said: 鈥淭his memorandum reflects the University鈥檚 commitment to enhancing international collaboration and providing learning and exchange opportunities for our members in an international environment.鈥
